Whether moon landing mementoes or timepieces on the wrist of James Bond, Omega knows how to make an impact. Now, three A-listers join the line-up of celebrities endorsing the watchmaker’s latest line of Aqua Terra

A trio of international stars have joined Swiss watchmaker Omega to launch the brand’s new Aqua Terra Shades collection. Vogue Scandinavia’s editor-in-chief Martina Bonnier was the ground at the brand’s London launch event joined by two of the brand’s ambassadors: Zoë Kravitz and Eddie Redmayne. Kravitz and Redmayne are joined by critically acclaimed Chinese actress Zhou Dongyu in the new Aqua Terra campaign ‘Every Shade of You’.

For Kravitz, a wristwatch has truly become a statement in 2023. Noting how “it’s not exactly the way it used to be,” she explains how wearing a wristwatch isn’t a necessity with time keeping the way it used to be. “Anything to stop us from looking at our phones for one moment is a good thing, you know? So I think it’s, you know, really wonderful to not have to do that.” Not only does a beautiful wristwatch help keep phone use at bay, but Kravitz also believes it to be beautiful jewellery. “The craftsmanship is really impressive and so beautiful.”

Just one dial from the new Aqua Terra Shades lineup is not enough for Kravitz, as she shares that she is lusting after the full collection of varied shades. “I want all of them so I can pick and choose,” she laughs. “I think some days you feel like one colour, and some days you feel like another.”

Redmayne, who has been an ambassador since 2015, has always appreciated the classic expression of Omega’s timepieces. As for the new, colourful dials, he laughs and says: “Well, I’m colour-blind.” Even so, the new Aqua Terra Shades lineup perfectly matches the British actor’s somewhat eclectic red carpet style. “I think the colours that they chose – from what I can see – are wearable,” he notes and continues to joke, saying, “whether I read the colours and match them correctly, that is.”

However, the stand out factor for Redmayne regarding the Aqua Terra Shades collection is the technical aspect. “I think that’s very unique,” he says. “There is something about the contrast of the colour with the strength of the metal that feels unexpected."

First introduced by Omega in 2002, the original Aqua Terra family presented a bold range of timepieces. The Latin name came from Omega’s rich ocean heritage and the brand’s iconic Seamaster watches, known for their reliability both on water (Aqua) and on land (Terra). The first models marked a shift in timepiece ingenuity, blending function and fashion in a wristwatch that has remained incredibly popular for over two decades.

The Aqua Terra Shades collection takes Omega’s watchmaking in a vibrant new direction. With a bold array of dials crafted from brass and then lacquered for extra depth, the vivid new shades span sun-brushed pastel shades like Atlantic Blue, Bay Green or Terracotta and more muted alternatives like classic Sandstone.

Available in two different sizes, with entirely polished stainless steel cases, either in 38mm or 34mm, the Aqua Terra collection features a Co-Axial Master Chronometer movement. In addition, two 18 karat gold models deliver an extra edge of luxury.
