From slick luggage and a timeless timepiece to statement bracelets and a mini dachshund named Betty, here's what Ceval, Søren Le Schmidt and more will be coveting in 2023

Everyone has that one item that appears on New Years' wish lists. Whether it's an elusive luxury piece they've been scouting for years, or a simple necessity they've long desired but never found, these Vogue Scandinavia insiders aren't leaving anything to chance in 2023.

Ceval Omar, model

Trans Norwegian model (and Vogue Scandinavia October cover star) Ceval Omar says she is most looking forward to adding a striking piece of jewellery to her collection this year – and Tiffany & Co.'s Elsa Peretti small bone cuff ticks all the boxes.

“I’m loving this statement piece," she tells us. The bold but simple silver cuff was created by Peretti for the luxury jeweller in the early 1970s, and 50 years on its appeal is strong as ever among the Hollywood set: Liza Minnelli, Sophia Loren, Catherine Deneuve, Angelina Jolie, and Margot Robbie are all self-confessed Peretti fans.

“A night at Hotel Copacabana in Rio with friends is wish number two," she adds, "followed by The Glow Serum from Hello Mantle. My skin would love me for wanting it."

Sebastian Andersen, commercial director of Won Hundred

When contemplating what to add to his 2023 wardrobe wish list, Won Hundred’s Sebastian Andersen says it’s a year for functionality and sustainability.

“I’ve been looking for the perfect travel piece for years,” says the Copenhagen-based commercial director. “That one carry-on piece that will solve all my problems when I am on the go for work, especially as the world slowly returns to some normality and work travel picks up again. I need to get my hands on a classic carry-on stroller from Rimowa to help me transition from A to B as smoothly as possible,” he says. “It’s a classic and timeless piece I can carry with me for years.”

“Working in an environment where the topic of fast consumption is constantly on the agenda, I have wanted to invest more in products with a longer lifespan, whether clothing, furniture, or something else – it’s all about quality over quantity,” Anderson continues. “I have always been into jewellery, but good quality products made with a long lifespan aren’t easy to come by. I have been searching for the right chunky silver bracelet for so long. I have decided that the Moto Bracelet from Swedish jewellery brand All Blues is a must-have for me in 2023.”

Clara de la Cour, head of communications & PR, Anni Lu

“My biggest wish for 2023 is a dog, preferably a mini dachshund named Betty,” says Anni Lu’s Clara de la Cour.

“Besides this, I’m already looking very much forward to the summer. I’m on the hunt for old Pucci and Chloé dresses. They are perfect for days at the beach, or a night out where of course I will add fresh Anni Lu summer jewellery: Green Bowl and Mini Mal necklaces. They are elegant when worn alone, and playful together with their beautiful subtle details in green.”

Josephine Bredsted, content creator

“Ever since I moved out of the city my perspective on what I’m wearing has changed drastically,” says Danish content creator Josephine Bredsted, who moved from Copenhagen to Klitmøller earlier this year with her husband shortly after their wedding. “I will always use my outfits as an extended expression of myself, but the harsh weather and being in nature a lot more has definitely altered my needs. Now it’s much more about finding something that will suit the environment around me and perhaps keep me warm, comfortable, and dry from the elements."

First on Bredsted's list is a dreamy made-to-order Lindsey Thornburg coat. “Each cloak is crafted with care in her Chinatown atelier in Manhattan. I’ve been dreaming about owning one of her jackets since it’s beautiful and perfect for my country life on the west coast.”

“Since I’m having my first baby in 2023, I’m also thinking about keeping my body sustained through pre-and post-natal,” she says. "I’m obsessed with light silks, cashmere, and wools to keep my body warm while still being able to breathe through the skin. That’s why I’m looking to get amazing jumpers and pants from Skall Studio.”

Søren Le Schmidt, fashion designer

Danish designer Søren Le Schmidt is hoping to add some very special pieces to his wardrobe in 2023, as well as something for the home he shares with his makeup artist and hairstylist wife Nikoline Barfod Skaarup and their twin boys, Marlon and Mio.

“I love interior design and different types of art, especially Erik A Frandsen’s Steel, I find it super cool and interesting, and would love to have it in my home in 2023,” says Le Schmidt.

“When it comes to fashion, I would love to purchase a vintage Louis Vuitton trolley and 2023 will also be the year where I purchase my first ‘real’ watch,” he says. “I have worn different watches for the past years, but only as a piece of jewellery – none of them have ever worked, but 2023 must be the year where I check what time it is on my wrist instead of the tablet. I am dreaming of a classic vintage Rolex.”
