As the temperatures continue to rise, we speak to the experts about how to fight one of beauty's biggest pet peeves of all times: frizzy hair
When it comes to beauty, summer is known as a glorious season. Sun-kissed skin, dewy cheeks, bare legs, and loads of vitamin D to balance out the winter blues. However, when it comes to hair care, rising temperatures means more humidity in the air, creating exactly the right conditions for annoying frizz. While we all agree that there’s definitely room for embracing natural seasonal textures, for those wanting to keep their strands tamed, some minor updates in your beauty routine will do the job.
Here, Vogue Scandinavia talks to experts and unlocks the ultimate guide to frizz-free hair. Take note:
1. First things first
If you think controlling frizz is (just) a matter of choosing the right leave-in oil or hair oil, we're sorry to inform you that this is not the case. "It all starts in the shower with products that contain both strength and moisture-building ingredients – healthy hair is the best start," explains Amanda Kupari, a colour technician at Baldacci Hair. According to the Kupari, dry and curly hair is more prone to frizz, as are damaged strands. So making sure your hair is properly nourished is the first step – and if you've been waiting for the right time to schedule your next trim, this is your wake-up call.

2. Lock it up
According to Kupari, layering is key to avoiding the common enemy. “Styling products with the right silicones are great to keep the frizz away because they work like a shield. Also, I recommend to end your styling with a spray that has humidity protection in it”, she adds. “I love the combination of Dream Cocktail Coconut-infused and Dream Coat from Color Wow! I always use these products before I blow dry when I want a styling to hold for ages and to keep the frizz away – works like an umbrella”, she finishes.
3. The right tools
Kupari swears by a good blow-out as the best way to protect your hair from humidity, and having the right tools for this moment is essential. "I recommend investing in a really good hair brush, it can make a huge difference! I love a hair brush that includes both nylon and boar bristles when it comes to frizz."
