You might have thought that nothing could top last year’s Vogue World event in London, and while it was, indeed, a hard event to top (I mean, the Supers! Annie Lennox! A pregnant Sienna Miller in baby-bump-revealing Schiaparelli!), but prepare yourself, because this year's edition is taking place in arguably the most iconic fashion city in the world: Paris. Vogue World: Paris will draw inspiration from the 2024 Summer Olympics, which are also to be held in the City of Lights. When is Vogue World: Paris?
Vogue World: Paris will take place on Sunday, June 23rd 2024, and can be watched on Vogue's exclusive livestream from Paris at 2 p.m. EST.
Where will Vogue World: Paris be held?
The famed Place Vendôme, a fashionista-favorite square of Paris that has served as everything from a global hub for fine jewellery to the inspiration for a Catherine Deneuve film, will host Vogue World this June.
Who's helping to bring Vogue World: Paris to life?
Carine Roitfeld, Ib Kamara, and Palais Galliera curator Alexandre Samson will be helming this year's fashion goings-on at Vogue World: Paris, with Dame Pat McGrath returning to lead makeup design and world-renowned dancer (and Rihanna Super Bowl halftime show choreographer!) Parris Goebel overseeing artistic direction and choreography. The globally broadcast livestream will be directed for the third time by Sam Wrench, who is perhaps best known for his work on Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour film.
What about the event has been announced?
This year's edition of Vogue World is being imagined in collaboration with youth athletic academies from throughout France, pairing each Olympic sport – cycling, gymnastics, tennis, taekwondo, fencing, and break dancing, among others – with a theme of French fashion for every decade since 1924 (which happens to be when Paris last hosted the Olympic Games.) The fashion selection will showcase French designers, current and past, as well as houses that historically present their collections in Paris – and, of course, there are rumored to be numerous surprise live performances in the works, but those won't be revealed until the day of.
How will Vogue World: Paris differ from previous versions of the event?
“If Vogue World: New York was a street fair, and Vogue World: London was a glamorous night at the theatre – supporting arts and cultural organisations in London – Paris will be a kind of opening ceremony; one that celebrates 100 years of fashion and sport, as well as this extraordinary city," said Vogue Global Editorial Director and Condé Nast Chief Content Officer Anna Wintour, who was joined at the Place Vendôme's famous Ritz Paris by designers Simon Porte Jacquemus, Olivier Rousteing, Marine Serre, and Pharrell Williams, as well as Executive President of the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode Bruno Pavlovsky and a number of French Olympians, including fencer Enzo Lefort.
Which local organisations is Vogue World: Paris working with?
A portion of the net proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the Paris 2024 charitable tickets program in association with Secours Populaire, a humanitarian organisation dedicated to granting individuals in low-income households the unique opportunity to attend the Olympic and Paralympic Games. The organisation also facilitates access to essential equipment for young, aspiring athletes across France.
