When curating a closet of countryside eclecticism, it is hard to pick only one piece from Ganni’s collaboration with Barbour
Ganni heads to the misty heath this season with a new collaboration in two parts. Partnering with British heritage brand Barbour, the Copenhagen cool girl favourite are presenting a ready-to-wear mainline collection and a “re-loved” collection of 50 upcycled and reworked outerwear pieces. The main collection consists of nine timeless pieces fashioned from organic waxed cotton and recycled polyamide – all kept in Barbour’s classic earth tones interspersed with a popping red and a bright neon green logo. “It’s been such a fun process working together on these two collections,” says Ganni’s creative director Ditte Reffstrup. “They each have a super distinct expression.”
The eagle-eyed would have spotted some of the “re-loved” coats on show at the brand’s recent fashion week show in Copenhagen, Barbour's traditional earth tones spruced up with Ganni's iconography and colourful embroidery. “I’ve always been a big fan of Barbour. Their outerwear is so iconic, you just want to keep their pieces forever, the design is so timeless, and the quality is simply that good,” says Reffstrup of the new launch.
As for our Vogue-approved selects, we find ourselves drawn to the cropped jacket, bucket hats and mini skirt. Made from waxed hunter green cotton, the outerwear captures Ganni signatures given a Barbour twist – just consider the oversized collar in a chestnut corduroy. With a matching mini skirt and bucket hat (both featuring neon green logos, of course) we’re all set for an impossibly chic countryside jaunt.
