As we're waiting for Emily in Paris to conquer our screens and spare time yet again, here, Vogue Scandinavia lists the looks from Nordic designers that we're yearning for Emily to wear
One of Netflix's greatest guilty pleasures, Emily in Paris, has already delighted us for two seasons and in January, we received the exciting news that the series will continue to grace our screens for a third and fourth season. In addition to its addictive plotline boasting hot love triangles and work drama at an elite marketing company, the show is known for its sartorial choices that have had the fashion community buzzing.
A self-proclaimed fashion-lover, lead character Emily Cooper's (Lily Collins) ensembles may be the ones causing the biggest waves, and amongst her scene-stealing get-ups, we've witnessed the charming American dip her toes in Scandi fashion as well. The latest season saw Emily donning Danish label Rotate's adorable Natalie bow dress and accessorising in St. Tropez with a graphic bucket hat from Finnish brand Marimekko.
While we eagerly wait for the third season to commence – which will likely happen sometime during the winter – Vogue Scandinavia has acted as Emily's fictional stylist, compiling a list of the Scandi looks we would love to see on her, s'il vous plaît!
Stine Goya

Considering their playful designs and avid use of vibrant colours, it’s astounding that we still haven’t seen Emily in Stine Goya. A Danish label favoured by the likes of Kendall Jenner and Hailey Bieber, perhaps we’ll see fellow influencer Emily snapping an Instagram story donning the signature checkered set on the streets of London? Or maybe she’ll rock up to a Parisian soirée sporting the pea-green printed dress?
The Garment

We’re aware that Emily is a fan of tailoring – just look at her endless selection of sharp blazers, often arriving in gingham or houndstooth. For its autumn/winter 2022 collection, Copenhagen-based The Garment offered an array of tailored looks, playing perfectly into the monochromatic minimalism Nordic style is known for. Even though Emily often favours paintbox brights, we would love to see her sporting this charcoal grey skirt suit.
Jade Cropper

Remember in season 1 when Emily wore the black strapless tulle dress by Alexandre Vauthier? Or the time when the show paid homage to Audrey Hepburn when Emily went to the ballet and donned the onyx black off-the-shoulder gown by Christian Siriano? These occasions bare great evidence that Emily is breathtaking in black. For her AW22 collection, Scandinavia’s buzziest designer Jade Cropper presented her version of the perfect LBD, and we’re dying for Emily to wear it.
Rave Review

Although Emily’s style is on the cute, coquettish side, we would love to see her embrace edgier elements in her dressing, and what could be a better brand to do that with than Swedish Rave Review? Creating luxury garments out of deadstock fabrics, the upcycled set from Rave Review’s AW22 collection perfectly fits Emily’s girly style but is amped up with Rave Review’s signature punk-esque aesthetic.
Soulland

Despite her reputation for providing ensembles that sometimes may seem less cohesive, it’s clear that Emily also loves a good co-ord set (think the iconic black and white gingham short suit set). Come crisp autumn in Paris (or London?); we can imagine our favourite American strutting the streets sporting Danish Soulland’s vibrant cropped jacket and trouser set, adorned with a retro flower print.
Rabens Saloner

Emily’s eveningwear choices are known to be extravagant, and her season two finale look, a scarlet red Giambattista Valli x H&M tulle dress, was undoubtedly one of the most memorable pieces donned during the season. Taking cues from the look but giving it a Scandi spin, the Rabens Saloner bright crimson dress draped around the body is exactly what we want to see on Emily when she attends a fashion show the next time.
Ida Sjöstedt

Another Nordic designer we would’ve expected to already spot in the show, Swedish Ida Sjöstedt is known for her feminine silhouettes and elaborate use of ruffle and tulle. Sjöstedt’s designs often feature delicate hues of pink, a colour favoured by Emily as well. It is hard not to imagine Emily attending one of her lavish work events, such as the Chopard party, in Sjöstedt’s dreamy blush pink tulle dress from her AW22 collection.
Cecilie Bahnsen

Different shades of green are probably amongst the hues Emily incorporates in her outfits the most, from iterations of coats and blazers to tops and skirts sporting the lush colour. However, astonishingly, we’ve yet to see the charming character don a green dress. Cue Cecilie Bahnsen’s bright emerald, balloon-hemmed number from her AW22 collection - the perfect piece for Parisian summer outings. Emily would absolutely finish off the look with a matching Jacquemus Le Chiquito Moyen bag.
Rotate

Emily’s love for Rotate was confirmed in the second season; however, we would like her to explore the Danish brand further and can’t think of a better piece to do that with than the show-stopping, body-hugging cow print bodysuit from the AW22 collection. Although Emily often leans into loud prints, we rarely see her in any animal versions – the Rotate piece would be a great addition to her selection of stand-out party wares. Emily would also certainly rock the pearl headpiece.
Stand Studio

Cropped tops and short hems probably occupy the most considerable portion of Emily’s wardrobe. We would be thrilled to see her rocking the Copenhagen-based Stand Studio’s fire-engine red vegan leather set with faux fur trimmings. Plucked from the brand’s AW22 collection, we can envision Emily wearing this look on a cute autumn coffee date in Jardin des Tuileries, or knowing Emily – maybe even to the office.
