Space Oslo instantly sparks a sense of escapism from your daily life starting the moment the doors open. Known for its mat and reformer Pilates classes held under the blue neon light and art in the ceiling, this gram-worthy studio won’t leave anyone cold. The Space is the place for bespoke, small-sized classes and top-level instructors who will be sure to squeeze the juice out of you, as those tiny little corrections are what make a big difference to the way you move.

Class types include the fast-paced burner ‘Strength & Challenge’ and for those wanting a slow and deep, beginner-friendly workout ‘Form & Alignment’ is the go-to. Word has it there’s an ‘invite-only’ advanced class for the dedicated Pilates nerds and in case you were contemplating a career change, they also serve as the only Stott Pilates licensed teacher training centre in Norway. Above all, The Space Oslo is a vibrant and friendly neighbourhood studio set in two locations, where its regulars keep coming back for the addictive workouts and sociable atmosphere. Leave with a potentially new friend and a few centimetres taller.

Core Balance

They come here for the all-over body burn though this hidden oasis is much more. Situated in the lively area of Oslo’s Majorstuden, the lush wellness concept holds an LA inspired Magaformer studio and cafe. Styled with comfy rattan furniture and a monumental amount of palm trees, Core Balance leaves us feeling like we’ve just taken a vacation to California. But don’t let the lounge area fool you; the super popular and super intense workouts will leave your abs on fire and your legs wobbling long after the last mirror selfie on your stories has expired.

The Lagree Method taught on the Megaformer machine might be peaking in Scandinavia as we speak, but is actually founded back in 1999 in Los Angeles and having tried it, is no wonder why models and A-list celebrities alike swear by this high-intensity but low impact training method done on the Megaformer machine. While you’re at it, book yourself the signature class Core Sculpt which utilises the harmless-looking 1 kg weights, while the upbeat playlists keep you distracted and the energy elevated. After the sweat sesh, it’s time for some well deserved retail therapy and if the weather allows, enjoy the sunshine in the communal backyard garden.

Balance by The Juicery

The latest go-to spot in Oslo brings together the yin and the yang, the strong and the soft, the yoga and the boxing. Balance By The Juicery is the fresh and new, centrally located studio concept owned by the plant-based cafe The Juicery. They say opposites attract, and so does this lofty Bali-style space with two oppositional rooms where classes take place. The white room holds yoga, Pilates, barre and sound meditation, while the Black Room is for the strong and sweaty strengthening classes, equipped with the newest Infrared technology for that extra heat.

To make things even more holistic, the bright and lofty space offers massage treatments that could come in handy after a boxing session with some of the most acknowledged boxing trainers in Norway. Luxuriate at the shower rooms with artisan Fitjar products and once refreshed, browse through the shop where you’ll find Lululemon attire to go with the cold-pressed juice from the Juicery Bar. Seeking for balance has never been more enjoyable.
