Some of the movie world’s biggest names are once again stalking La Croisette at the Cannes Film Festival, and they are bringing enough sparkle to match their personal star power.
Colour is a theme already. Uma Thurman channelled ’90s minimalism and grown-up glamour with a wide ruby and diamond choker by Chopard that matched the scarlet of her Dior Haute Couture cape. Alessandra Ambrosio’s striking line necklace was an ombré effect of multicoloured spinels by Pomellato. Fan Bingbing wore bright green, stonking great emeralds that stood out against her perfectly pale complexion and tiger and bamboo-themed gown, and Helen Mirren went for colourless Bulgari diamonds to offset her new blue rinse and matching dress.
Manu Rios meanwhile, who stars alongside Pedro Pascal in Pedro Almodóvar’s gay western, Strange Way of Life, showed the women a thing or two about making a simple but arresting statement with jewellery. He paired an open neck, sheer shirt by Saint Laurent with a wide chain link necklace.
