Our favourite stars served sartorial drama and awe-inspiring accessories on the red carpet, but beauty was the true scene-stealer. Discover here Vogue Scandinavia's picks for the top 11 best beauty moments of the night
The 'night of nights' for Hollywood, the Academy Awards 94th edition was celebrated last night. Amidst stunning showcases of fashion, iconic reunions, walks down memory lane, and even non-scripted drama, we were delighted by the celebrities that shone on the red carpet.
Yet, while fashion might've been the main star of the night, beauty was its unmissable plus one. So in between a sea of perfect polished soft glam, and quaffed strands, we compile our top makeup, hair and nail moments for the night.
Halle and Chloe Bailey's modern interpretation of mythological beauty

We start strong with the Bailey sisters looking like literal goddesses sporting towers of hair and carefully placed eyeshadow while walking down the carpet. Remember when it was rumoured they would play the Muses in a live-action of Disney's Hercules? Well, they're definitely up for the task.
Billie Eilish's merger of minimalism and goth

Billie Eilish managed to create a look that is simultaneously minimalistic and strong, dark and bold. After a hot moment as a blonde, we doubt that the jet black dye is a permanent choice (wigs are, after all, a poorly kept red carpet styling tool secret). For the night, she channelled a gothic Marilyn Monroe as she hit the red carpet.
Zoë Kravitz's sweet, Hepburn reincarnation

After her latest antics in Gotham, my visual perception of Zoë Kravitz was tinted by her role as Catwoman in The Batman. Therefore I must confess this sweet, soft, polished look swept me off my feet for all the right reasons. The short bangs and perfectly sleeked hair, the nude-ish lip and soft blush is a modern reinterpretation of Audrey Hepburn's iconic look.
Megan Thee Stallion's knife-like claws

While the colour is barely there, the cut of Megan Thee Stallion's XXL nails is what caught our attention. Tilted at an asymmetrical slant, these claws were cut out for the red carpet. That's all I have to say.
Vanessa Hudgens's sharp-as-diamond liner

Go ahead, zoom in. I sure did. I wasn't even sure if it was my 02:00 eyes or the resolution on my laptop that was playing games on me. But no, Vanessa Hudgens really walked down the carpet with a liner sharp enough to cut diamonds. Simply iconic.
Lupita Nyong'o's hair-do

Lupita Nyong'o's carefully constructed, uniquely layered, strategically crafted, up do had us gasping. With art-like attention the perfectly placed braids were arguably one of the best looks of the night.
Brad Goreski's five o'clock shadow

Sometimes a rugged beard takes away from classic, traditional, clean aesthetic. However, it was a pleasant surprise to see Brad Goreski sporting his stylish version of a five o'clock shadow in the carpet — proving that you can actually look sharp while keeping the fuzz.
Demi Singleton's eternal inches

Sofia Carson's timeless classic

Not a single hair out of place and not a single pigment smudged – this was the polished perfection of Sofia Carson's beauty look for the night. With just a bit of shadow, a nude lip with a strong, soft-edged black liner she proved classic makeup and timeless beauty never goes out of fashion.
Diane Guerrero's latin volume

Diane Guerrero said 'hold my hairspray' as the latin diva strutted down the carpet with a hair-do that was serving quintessential latin volume.
Zuri Hall's classic soft-glam

Finally, it's not a red carpet without a classic soft, pink-blushed glam and Zuri Hall was the best example of this trend for the night.
