The Oslo-based fashion creative invites us inside her escapist-infused hytte, characterised by earthy tones, natural materials, and complete tranquility
No one does Scandinavian dressing quite like Tine Andrea Lauvli. Sophisticated shades of browns, blacks, and whites meet oversized silhouettes and just the right amount of edgy detailing for a fresh, contemporary feel. It comes as no surprise that her interior style is a natural extension of this neatly-curated trademark aesthetic. Based in Oslo, Lauvli lives in a recently renovated apartment with her husband and their golden retriever. Whenever the pair needs a break from their hectic everyday life, they visit their soothing cabin, ideally located just outside of the Norwegian capital.
“I love my job, but sometimes we all need to stop, breathe, and just take a minute. Escapism in nature and occasional solitude does wonders for my well-being while also generating new energy for my meetings and travels,” she explains.
For as long as Lauvli can remember, cabins have always been present (in her life). “Growing up, I frequently stayed in cabins with my family. We had several ones located right by the mountains or near the sea. I have always valued having these spaces. They’re designed for total recharge.”

For this particular cabin, the interior vision was crystal clear from the very beginning. Lauvli wanted to pay homage to nature, inspired by the cabin’s picturesque surroundings. Outside, flourishing forests stretches as far as the eye can see, alongside fairytale-like creeks bathing in tranquility. “We still have several cabins in the family, each one styled differently,” Lauvli says.
Nature aside, this one is spearheaded by minimalism and darker shades. Leather, stone, and wood all come in deep coloured hues, embracing an earthy yet exclusive feel.
When asked about her best-tried-and-true interior tips, she is quick to bring up the buzzy realm of second hand. “I love sourcing pieces that I know I will keep forever. It could be a classic Louis Poulsen lamp or a timeless Andreas Engesvik chair.” The opt for preloved- approach applies to all her interior projects, from main apartment to escapist cabin. “My style will most likely change a bit in the future, I’m sure of that. But no matter my style, I will always fall back on vintage décor, either collected or inherited.”
If you, just like us, are eager to add an essence of Lauvli’s minimalist flair into your own interiors, messy imperfection is the mindset to go for. “Never feel like you need to follow any rules. It’s easy to get too focused on making your home perfect. A home should be a little messy sometimes. There should be pictures of your loved ones, personal items, and warmth,” she says.
I can't wait to bring our baby here.

If you want to source new interior pieces, let locally-sourced treasures lead the way together with timeless investments. “I like collecting pieces. Be it cutlery, books, chandeliers – whatever you choose. Start collecting slowly and spend some time doing it.”
Additionally, mother-to-be Lauvli is busy preparing for the arrival of her first child. Unsurprisingly, her much-cherished hytte hotspot is set to become a key fixture both before, during, and after the newborn’s arrival. “I can’t wait to bring our baby here. Becoming a mother has been a dream of mine for so long. It’s something naturally calming about being around mountains, rivers, and trees, especially when you’re pregnant.”
