Copenhagen's autumn/winter '24 season has come to an end, leaving us satiated with sartorial inspiration. While the runway may look ahead to next season, we tap show-goers to boost our current styling chops with give street-style approved trends to try now

Kendall Jenner kicked off a cropped revolution when she stepped out in Bottega Veneta's no-trouser look last year. This season in Copenhagen, however, street stylers paved the way for how to rock the look if you're not an A-list celebrity: tapping trusty stockings for additional coverage. Yes, make the shorts micro mini, but layer up with denier (be they opaque or sheer). As for making the right material choice when trying the micro shorts trend? Be bold and play around with anything but denim, preferably leather or knitwear.

Nail the (new) New Look with lady-like tailoring

On the opposite end of the fashion spectrum we find lady like tailoring styled to perfect by Copenhagen tastemakers. While this trend may run on the more demure side in a limited range of colours – spanning graphite, hazel and milky white – it is a far cry from your grandma's get-up. Waists are cinched, shoulders chiselled and accessories are truly timeless. The easiest way to take on the trend? Lean into monochromatic textures when styling your ladylike tailoring.

The most surprising shade to step up as a street style favourite this season? Butter yellow. More specifically, butter yellow leather rendered in a wide variety of outerwear. Seen sported top-to-toe, with a matchy-matchy leather trouser and trenchcoat, or as a statement overcoat, the trend can be traced back to last summer when we first saw a slew of sunny light-yellow jackets buttering up our current craving.

(Faux) fur bonanza

If you've been tracking the sudden, meteoric rise of the 'mob wife' aesthetic online, then the correlating popularity of exuberant faux furs in Copenhagen comes as no surprise. There were fuzzy fixtures in all the rainbow's colours (with former Vogue Scandinavia cover star Nina Sandbech in a bright red version a standout in the crowd), but when investing in your very own faux fur stole or floor-length coat, our recommendation is a more muted colour scheme. Whether luxe snowy shades or a darker colour scheme, this is a sure-fire investment for the next couple of cold-weather months.

Two (or three) tone styling

When in doubt, two-tone it out. Sometimes, we are most creative when ruled by strict restrictions. It is an age-old adage in the world of art, so why can't we apply the same technique to styling? Choosing two to three colours opposite or next to each other on the colour wheel helps create a cohesive look without falling back on neutrals. That baby blue dress you've left hanging? Reach for some burgundy leather. As for never wearing red and pink in one look? Throw the rulebook out the window.
