From having fun with faux fur to sock-stuffed ballerinas, these are the street style trends we're nabbing from this season's CPHFW attendees
Naturally, runways are always clairvoyant keyhole into what's to come. Foreshadowing next year's fashion, the industry gathers with single-minded focus on the future. With one key exception: street stylers. The nature of this sartorial subcategory is, after all, based on what is trending now.
Taking to the cobbled streets of Copenhagen our favourite tastemakers sported enviable ensembles en masse. From niche accessories to styling tricks and tips, there was an onslaught of outfits and details we want to emulate this season.
Below, find five trends we plan to incorporate in our daily wardrobe rotation right now:
New Balance's new sneaker is a good investment
The 1980s were everywhere on the runways of Copenhagen Fashion Week this season – from Nicklas Skovgaard's working girl meets 'mob wife' to The Garment's American Gigolo-inspired looks. Fittingly, the '80s also laced the street style be spotted on the cobbled streets of the capital.
New Balance's soon-to-be-released T500 style (initially launched in the 80s as a performance tennis shoe) could be seen out and about, keeping some of our favourite tastemakers comfortable throughout the week.
Faux fur for more than just outerwear
Faux fur was everywhere at Copenhagen Fashion Week. No, literally. Not only did most guests swathe themselves with fabulous floor-skimming furs, they also topped their looks with fuzzy hats and clutched fluffy bags to their chests.
While the floppy-style popularised by Finish brand Onar will always have a spot in our winter wardrobe rotation, we found ourselves struck by the emergence of faux fur pill-box hats. A very chic way to keep your ears warm this winter.
It's time to bring back the '90s-era hairband
If Copenhagen Fashion Week street stylers are to be trusted, 90s-era headbands are back. These stretchy, wide headbands have long been relegated to our daily beauty routines – keeping our hair our of our face – but is now emerging as the hair accessory to have.
Our favourite part of is easy-to-wear trend? It solves all of our woes when battling a bad hair day.

Summer shoes with socks for warmth
As of late, we've had a lacklustre relationship to our winter boots. Yes, they've kept us sturdy throughout the icy winter months, but we all can't wait to hide them in the back of our closets. And it seems Copenhagen's street stylers agreed with us this season.
There was rarely heavy boot in sight, as the style set instead utilised some savvy styling stuffing knitted socks in summer shoes. The perfect way to break out your ballerinas and kitten heels before spring has even arrived.
Adorn your bun with something fun
Fun was very much on the agenda for Copenhagen street style this season, none-the-less in the hair department. Bows made their grand return along side embellished claw clips, adorning loose waves and plaits. But it seemed the majority of street stylers set out to have some fun with their buns, opting for oversized scrunchies when dressing up their up-dos.
Is this another hint of the 1980s making a grand return this year? We hope so.
