The models at Stine Goya dazzled the runway in makeup looks capable of illuminating the whole room with just a glance

Olafur Eliasson is an Icelandic-Danish designer known for his sculptural and large-scale installations where he plays with light, texture, space and colour. With simple, yet key, placements and pieces he has the talent to transform a room and create a whole new universe. He also was the inspiration behind the collection and makeup looks that the models sported during Stine Goya's autumn/winter 2022 runway.

Marie Thomsen, Danish makeup artist known for her talent in harnessing the natural beauty of clean skin and flawless base, partnered with M.A.C Cosmetics to bring Eliasson’s world into the universe of Stine Goya and create looks that paired with the brightly coloured pieces. “We had two looks, a white liner and a gloss, the liner look had a strong, bold and minimalistic inspiration, we wanted a tech vibe with a futuristic approach. For the gloss finish we wanted something subtle with a dash or iridescent shine to get that plastic finish, almost a little bit robotic,” says Thomsen.

Both the graphic white liner look and the gloss finish were paired with natural skin, something characteristic of both the Nordic region and Thomsen’s aesthetic. “It starts with the prepping, we used a mix of essential oils and strobe cream and massaged it into the skin with the fingers, then added a bit more essential oils on top.” From there MAC’s Studio Radiance Face and Body Radiant Sheer Foundation was the one responsible for the clean, perfect canvases. “You have to melt it together,” according to Thomsen. After that it’s a matter of strobing, applying extra dimension with highlighter and doing a natural brow and lip.

“For the lined eyes, we prepped them with 24 Hour Eyeshadow Primer and used sports tape to create a horizontal shape. Two coats of Chromaline Pure White and set with Gesso Eyeshadow for that strong minimalistic look,” a quite straightforward and direct system for a straightforward and clean look. On another hand, my personal favourite, was found in the glossy finish. “This look was a combination of Strobe glaze with Iridescent Pearl Pigment applied onto the entire lid.” Gorgeous.
