Dive deep into Stine Goya's colourful universe of electric blue, acid green and bright pink – with the occasional dash of silver and purple
For autumn/winter 2022, Stine Goya explored life – or rather ‘LIFE’ by Icelandic-Danish artist Olafur Eliasson. “This season is an exploration of life imitating art, imitating life,” explained Stine Goya when we spoke about the collection. The collection set out to examine innovative technology and the result of a conceptual digital landscape, asking what is real and what isn’t?
Eliasson’s artwork very much guided the palette for AW22 – the watery aquas progress into acid greens and the watery cerulean into a fluorescent blue, contrasted with the brand's signature pinks, oranges, purples and just a dash of silver. Traditional craftsmanship techniques such as embroidery is contrasted with modern and innovative fabrics. Stine Goya's choice of materials is, as always, thoroughly considered with the coming season seeing an array of new responsible options – from biodegradable rubber to recycled sequins and embroidery yarns.
The collection – dubbed ‘Inside-Out’ – takes Goya’s signature playfulness and colourful universe into an edgier and more sensual direction. The lineup leaned on elevated yet oversized silhouettes in technical fabrics, merging psychedelic prints with the texture and clean lines of the 1990s. “A key dress for the season is the Annalisa, an A-line babydoll dress made out of double-layered organza with a handpainted print, resulting in a distorted floral effect,” Goya explains. Other innovations come in the knitwear category, where a new technique is used on fluffy printed knit pieces.
