Organising by colour and category with jewellery in glass and bags on display, designer Anine Bing’s wardrobe is an interior lover’s dream

Danish designer Anine Bing has built her eponymous label around uniform dressing. Pieces that work together and can be mixed and matched easily. And her wardrobe follows the same philosophy; everything is organised, and on display, so it’s easy to plan an elevated look.

Can you describe your wardrobe space for us?

“My main wardrobe was designed so that a majority of my pieces can be hung up. I keep some storage drawers for knits etc... I merchandise my shoes underneath my clothing pieces so I can see everything at once when I go into my closet. Separately, I have another closet for my purse collection; we’ll get into more details on that later!”

How do you organise your clothes?

“I organise everything by category. This coincides with my uniform dressing mentality. Having all of my clothes organised this way allows me to quickly style pieces that I know I can mix and match easily.”

I don't like the idea of putting a ton of my clothes in a drawer, I think it's easy to forget about great pieces that way

How important is storage for you? What do you look for in storage?

“Functional storage is so important. I look for storage that keeps my pieces visible and accessible. I don’t like the idea of putting a ton of my clothes in a drawer; I think it’s easy to forget about great pieces that way. I like to hang most of my pieces and display my jewellery in glass, so everything is ready to style.”

Do you have any secrets to keeping it well ordered?

“I’m a firm believer in cleaning out my closet every three months or so. I love having an edited wardrobe. It makes getting ready so much easier.”

What are your three most prized possessions?

“I love my Anine Bing’ Colette’ bag, I wear it almost every day, and it goes with anything in my closet. I have some beautiful gold jewellery that is very special to me, and another piece I keep coming back to is our Kaia Blazer Houndstooth, such a classic blazer. I am all about timeless style.”

What are some cool/unique features in your wardrobe?

“My favourite part of my wardrobe is my purse wardrobe. My collection is something that I hold so dear to my heart. I’ve been building it for years now. Having all of my vintage, new and Anine Bing purses all in one place is something I cherish.”

Do you have any hacks that you’d want to share?

“I love organising by colour and category, it makes getting dressed so much easier, and your closet will look super chic.”

How do you store your handbags and jewellery?

“I store all of my handbags on individual stacked shelves so that they’re all visible; this helps me make sure that none of them gets forgotten. As for my jewellery, I store everything in glass.”
