Little adjustments can completely change the course of your day. It might be a book you absently picked up at a bookstore, a new yoga class you want to try out, a powerful mantra, or perhaps your favourite vintage steal. Even really tiny additions can uplift your life in significant ways. Ultimately, everything you surround yourself with tells the story of who you are – this is particularly true in the case of Sophia Roe.

The Danish content creator is probably best known for her classic and quality-focused attire. Since entering the fashion game, the influencer and stylist has become one of the most popular style icons in Scandinavia and beyond. Her minimalist approach is addictive, particularly so in her role as the Creative Director of The Garment.

No wonder many of us are left wondering which puzzle pieces are responsible for holding Roe's particular universe together. Luckily, she let us peek into her cosmos, giving us the run-down on her five life essentials which make the everyday challenges just that little bit more bearable. Plus, Roe gave us one extra piece of wisdom – perhaps her most precious one: “My boyfriend Philip once gave me the best advice when I was stressed and worried. He said: ‘Look at the trees. They are standing here with their roots in the ground. Sometimes you simply have to imagine yourself as grounded as the trees and just be.’”

Below, Sophia Roe shares with Vogue Scandinavia her five everyday non-negotiables:

1

Mushroom extracts

Mushroom extracts in the morning are my beauty and wellbeing secret. I am adding Rainbo Mushroom to my morning water or smoothie – a couple of drops of 11:11 provide whole-system support and give me a sense of mental clarity for a fresh start to my day.

2

The power of three

5 things Sophia Roe

Once a week, I create a long list with all the things I need to finish during the coming weeks. Each day, I write down a maximum of three to-dos at a time, always leaving room for extras coming in at the very last minute. I found out finishing three at a time left me more focused and motivated.

3

A touch of elegance

Not a life saver, but changing all my sneakers to loafers and ballerinas has been helpful – they are a chicer choice of shoes that go with everything, at any time or occasion. Easy to slip into and elevated, yet effortless.

4

A bigger splash

5 things Sophia Roe

I love a refreshing cold shower in the morning after washing my hair. Then after a long day, an Epsom salt bath, with essential oils, in the evening can be a true game-changer to relax my muscles and mind.

Phone-free weekends

5 things Sophia Roe

During quarantine, I found out how important it is to implement time for just me. Since my schedule has now become super busy again, I make sure to prioritise myself during the weekends, and leave my phone at home when going outside. We don’t have to be reachable at all hours of the day.
