With just a few days left until September, it's fair to say that autumn is upon us. Whilst this can conjure mixed feelings, there's nothing quite like the joy of this season's wardrobe – especially in the early stages when there is still some warmth in the air. This is the season to wear boots with shorts, skirts with knits, leather jackets with linen trousers – and relish in many more creative combinations of different fabrics and fits.
Below, Vogue Scandinavia gathers 16 jackets to invest in for the trans-seasonal times ahead.

Leather jackets
There is something special about dusting off your leather jacket in August. This autumn, we are opting for a more cropped fit. Turning our attentions to Acne Studios, the brand's autumn/winter collections are a surefire bet for a lust-worthy leather jacket, and this season was no exception.
Cropped wool jackets
As the temperatures will still rise and dip in early autumn, and rain may bring with it some humidity, the breathable nature of wool is always a good option. For autumn/winter '23, we're opting for boxier fits that lend themselves easily to layering.
Blazers
Blazers are, and will remain, a safe investment – especially in a toned-down colour. Slip one on in corduroy or herringbone to act as outerwear, style it under another coat or jacket for even more styling possibilities.
Trench coats
The jacket that is synonymous with early autumn? The tried-and-true trench coat. Usually lightweight in its fabric and long in its cut, our edit spans from classic twill and wool to a more experimental black satin iteration.
