If you (like us) fell in love with Finnish brand Onar Studio's 'Selen' coat after seeing it on Lily Collins, you're in luck – the style is celebrating its fifth birthday with a flash sale you won't want to miss
Endorsed by Miley Crus, Jorja Smith, and Tessa Thompson, Finnish brand Onar has received raving reviews for its circular-produced colourful leather goods since it first launched in 2014. Distinctly Scandinavian, boasting functional details like insulating fastenings at the collars and constructions allowing for reversible two-for-one styles, the brand has found its way into yet another celebrity's wardrobe rotation.
Over the past year, Lily Collins and her husband, Charlie McDowell, have gradually assimilated to Copenhagen, where they now own a home. But the most notable aspect of Collin's Danish assimilation has been in her closet. Bolstered by Nordic brands, the actor has frequently been spotted around the capital wearing quintessential Scandinavian-style staples designed by local brands.
One such brand is the aforementioned Onar, whose popular 'Selen' coat was the outerwear of choice when Collins attended Danish photographer Petra Kleis' first-ever solo exhibition at Denmark's National Portrait Gallery in Frederiksborg Castle last November. Kleis is notably the photographer who snapped Collins' very own digital cover for Vogue Scandinavia.

"The ‘Selen’ coat was developed back in 2018, shortly after we created the Marlene coat [a superb leather trench that has since become a best seller for the brand]," says Irene Kostas, Onar's founder. Updating the style with a fabulously fluffy, exaggerated fur collar, the ‘Selen’ soon became a sought-after little sister to the ‘Marlene’ coat, available in extensive sizing in five different colourways.
When Collins later wore it in November 2023, the 'Selen' had snagged the spot as one of the Finnish brand's more popular styles. "But of course, the popularity took a big leap after she wore it," says Kostas. "Now it has become one of our most coveted coats worldwide."

Since then, Onar has become a staple in Collins' outerwear closet. Beyond sporting the popular 'Selen' style, the star of Emily in Paris has been seen donning the brand's convenient and covetable 'Naoko' aviator — a reversible style boasting colour-blocked leather on one side and cropped two-tone shearling on the other. Posting to her Instagram, posing in front of a Perrier poster starring herself, Collins wore her version with a white shirt, a knit sweater, and flared black jeans.
