To fete its fifth anniversary, Rotate releases a holiday capsule that's fit for all this season's soirees
It’s Rotate’s fifth anniversary, and unsurprisingly, it knows how to celebrate. To mark the occasion, the beloved Danish brand is embarking on a world tour, complete with popups at Kadewe in Berlin, Printemps in Paris and even Bloomingdale’s Dubai. But to kick off the festivities, Rotate has released a holiday collection of party-ready looks. “The collection embodies the very concept that inspired the birth of the Rotate brand – the vision of the ultimate party woman,” founders Thora Valdimars and Jeanette Madsen tell me. “It stays true to our core, focusing on the little details that make our designs extravagant yet wearable.”
Take, for instance, the body-hugging floral mini dress adorned with transparent sequins for “extra sparkle” or the high-necked velvet dress with cheeky sparkly hearts on the nipples. Elsewhere, party looks plucked from the 90s by way of sequinned midi skirts and matching halter tops. Set in a palette of golds and silver, offset by deep greens and purples, the collection begs to be worn to cocktail parties and festive dinners, followed by a stint on the dance floor. Fittingly, the accompanying lookbook stars Jessie Andrews, a woman we’d love to party with.
As for which pieces Valdimars and Madsen look forward to wearing themselves? Madsen plans to reach for a show-stopping teal sequinned halter neck dress for Rotate’s office Christmas party. Valdimars, meanwhile, looks forward to rocking a white, ankle-grazing sequinned number with a cut-out back to a Christmas dinner with her girlfriends. “After the party, we’re going to a D1MA concert,” she says. “But before that, I’m going to take out the lining from the dress.”
