For a state banquet the royal opted for a sustainable and jaw-dropping choice
In a sartorial nod to Swedish design, Queen Letizia of Spain turned heads in high-street brand H&M at last night’s state visit dinner.
The full-skimming voluminous navy tulle dress from the Swedish label’s Conscious Collection offered a delightful amount of sheer tulle completed with delicate frill detailing. The peek-a-boo back included two tied bows, a playful take on a classic line.
To finish the look, the Spanish royal paired the dress with Spanish accessory brand Magrit’s Alice Gold leather clutch and a black faux fur cape. Hair was swept back to make way from Queen Ena’s Fluer-de-Lis show stopping Tiara. The cherry on top, oversized diamond earrings.

H&M’s Conscious Collections act as a design incubator, allowing the brand to experiment with cutting-edge, more environmentally friendly technologies. Pieces are created using new materials and innovations that push the boundaries when it comes to responsibility and sustainability, with the idea the technologies will eventually be used in H&M's main collections - in a bit for a greener, better fashion industry.
For those who enjoy a game of royal eye spy, you'd note this isn’t the first time this dress has been worn by the monarchy. To mark Crown Princess Victoria and her husband Prince Daniel’s 10th wedding anniversary, last year, the future queen posed in the frothy tulle gown. Her dress was slightly altered with sleeves added.
The Crown Princess also wore an emerald green gown to the Swedish LGBTQ awards earlier this year.

Held in the castle’s largest ballroom, the White Sea, the gala dinner part of Spanish royals two-day state visit to Sweden, on invitation of King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia. The Swedish Crown Princess Couple and the Prince Couple were also in attendance.
The aim of the State Visit is to further strengthen and highlight the longstanding and excellent relations between Sweden and Spain.
