"We are such close friends, and we have a lot of the same references." Last night, Molly Sandén and Miriam Bryant pulled out all the stops in a matching moment for the ages...
Guldbaggegalan, Scandinavia’s answer to the Oscars, was held in Stockholm last night, with the crème de la crème of the Scandi media elite attending the prestigious event. Stars poured in to the venue, with taffeta, sequins, and silk gowns galore. However, it was Swedish pop stars, and Vogue Scandinavia sweethearts, Molly Sandén and Miriam Bryant, who caught our attention in matching gowns in bold fuchsia and orange.
An instantly iconic fashion moment, Bryant told Vogue Scandinavia, “It was so much fun to do a fashion appearance together! We are such close friends, and we have a lot of the same references. We both love to work with Christoffer Insulander as well who made the gowns for us.” With a broken knee from a ski accident, Miriam also wore the suavest leg brace Scandinavia has ever seen, paired with a dramatic, yet functional, black and silver cane.
Just liker her BFF, Sandén told Vogue Scandinavia, “Both me and Miriam were supposed to be on tour right now if it wasn't for Covid, so when we got the question from Guldbaggegalan, we decided to dress up for all the times we couldn’t. We are best friends who always support each other, and are in this s*** together, so the twin-dresses felt like the best statement." A statement we will remember for a long time.
The pair also opted for matching gloves from the Swedish fashion activist B. Åkerlund, who has styled Madonna, ABBA, and Katy Perry amongst many others, collaboration with Handsome Stockholm. As the winter chill continues to sweep across the Nordics, this is the look of the season. Drama is the key to dopamine dressing, whether an opera or mini length, it’s time to add some theatricality into our everyday lives.
So, we’ll be taking our queues from these pop queens to start matching with our BFFs. Whether twinning Euphoria inspired eyeshadow like this superstar pair to matching sweatsuits, if you come as a set, you’re destined to stand out in a crowd.
