Combining cosiness with gorgeous design, these furniture pieces were the standouts at the recent Stockholm Design Week and Furniture Fair — and are a surefire way to liven up your interiors
A comfy armchair can transform an empty corner into a dreamy nook to snuggle up onto while waiting for warmer days to return. But finding a functional armchair that not only looks good in your space but is also utterly enjoyable to curl up in is essential.
Thankfully, you don’t have to spend hours searching for the next best thing on socials. This week, Stockholm Design Week and Furniture Fair unveiled the most dreamy lounge chairs. Highly customisable and made to fit any aesthetic, these “it” Scandi designs are about to enliven your interiors.
Here’s how to incorporate them into your space — according to the experts that created them.
Origo lounge chair by Avilo

The Origo lounge chair made a striking debut at the Stockholm Furniture Fair and its rounded hexagon shape is about to take over the empty space in your lounge. Created by Danish design house Avilo, Origo is made from soft foam padding which wraps around a steel skeleton. “The shape of Origo supports your neck or elbow, making your position extra comfortable. It’s a stand-alone piece perfect to create a reading nook in your lounge or to complement a home office,” says founder and designer Kim Suhr Villefrance. Made-to-order in Denmark, you can deck out your Origo in five different fabrics and choose from more than 20 colours directly online.
Barba chair by Fogia
In collaboration with Norwegian designer Andreas Engesvik, Fogia’s latest chair was inspired by cotton candy — and trust us when we say that it is as soft and fluffy as the sugary treat. Low to the ground, wide and deep, the Barba chair was designed for cosiness. “We wanted to celebrate sculptural roundness in the home, and Barba is the ideal piece to complement more structured furniture and a sophisticated ease to your living room,” explains Engesvik. Made in Fogia's own Swedish factories with traceable beech and semi-recycled foam, Barba is the stylish, ethical statement your home needs. Get yours in Fogia’s concept stores.
The Poodle Chair by Johanson

An instant hit when designer Anna Herrmann revealed its design in collaboration with Johanson in late September, The Poodle chair can now be part of your home. Produced with recycled foam in a small factory in Markaryd, Sweden, this lounge chair combines different layers of fabrics aimed to bring versatility into your space. “The Poodle is ideal to enhance a small living space — living room or otherwise — but I’d recommend putting it free-standing to really highlight the back curve,” advises Herrmann. Whether you prefer soft hues of lavender and blush or a combination of velvet and linen, The Poodle can be tailored to any palette and ordered exclusively in Stockholm’s Nordiska Galleriet.

You can never go wrong with a timeless and minimalist design from Eilersen. The Danish house recently launched Havana, a versatile and playful lounge chair. Made to order with soft foam and bouclé fabric, Havana comes in an assorted range of colours — from dusty grey to caramel — which you can pick directly at Eilersen’s showrooms. “The Havana armchair is quite modular,” says Lisa Kjaer, Eilersen’s PR Manager. “You can have one or two arms on each side, or no arms at all, whatever suits your aesthetic.” With rounded curves and a compact size, the hit Havana is ready to complement any type of room, whether it's as a stand-alone in your bedroom or coupled with different fabrics to create the most welcoming, entertaining space.

Interested in bringing a more detailed piece into your place? Then the Mango lounge chair designed by Note Design Studio and Wendelbo is for you. Upholstered with the utmost attention, it combines multiple foam layers and stitching that mimics a cut mango ready to envelop you. Wendelbo’s creative manager Louise Mengel Laeso says, “It is best to pair it with any other designs that have similar legs or sit low to the ground — that way you’ll avoid a chunky-looking space.” Overall, The Mango chair is quite adaptable and can be tailored in any of Wendelbo’s fabrics in-store, making it easy to integrate with the furniture you already have.
