For SS22, Levis 501s get the Iggy Jeans treatment
For Ingrid Berg, founder of Iggy Jeans, denim has long since been her canvas, but this season she expands her universe, covering faces, bodies and even walls with her signature whimsical artwork. As she puts it, “fashion is a border-crossing genre.”
Held at a classic Östermalm flat and set to the dreamy tunes of musician Hans Berg, today’s SS22 collection starred upcycled Levis 501s – arguably the world’s most famous jean. Hand-painted with retro zigs and zags, Berg continues to add a touch of punky humour to an everyday staple. The white denim, decorated with pale pink swirls or abstract green flames, are sure to be a favourite come summer.
The female models wore Iggy-printed gaffer tape around their chests in lieu of shirts, their slick wet hair occasionally fashioned into devil points, mirroring a popular Instagram filter. The men wore nothing up top, save for their body paint.
