The bride, movement director Sophie Apollonia, wore three looks to wed CDLP creative director Christian Larson – in a crazy Ibiza bash

The party to end all parties: that is what Christian and Sophie Apollonia Larson served up when they got hitched in Ibiza last month. A three-day bash curated to give their friends and family nothing less than the time of their lives.

"We had so much fun planning it." Apollonia, movement director in fashion and film, says, recalling the three days spent on the island with elation. "We're both super creative, and have all these crazy ideas." For those who know the Stockholm-based couple, a crazy, fun wedding is exactly what you'd expect. Fireworks follow them throughout the celebrations – as they have since they met eight years ago.

Larson, film maker and creative director of CDLP, was directing a commercial that Apollonia was cast to dance in. "It was pretty electric. It sounds so cheesy, but from the moment I walked in and we locked eyes, I couldn't stop thinking about him. But I'm a professional, and so is he, so I was trying to avoid it the whole time we were shooting. Later he told me the exact same thing – that he hadn't been able to stop thinking about me. As soon as we wrapped he was like, 'I swear I've never done this before, but I would love to take you out."

The wedding itself was equally electric – every plan made with mood in mind. It kicked off with a sunset sail to Formentera, where guests danced and swam while Larson deejayed. "We wanted everyone to get to know each other and break the ice, so that they'd all be best friends at the wedding," Apollonia explains. "And it was just the best day. Christian's pretty sick on the decks, we were living out our DJ fantasies. I was the booth hoe!"

The next day, they gathered at the villa where the couple were staying. Exotic gardens, pomegranate trees, and views that overlooked the ocean and mountains. "It felt like we were on top of the world," she recalls. The house was itself was an experience: a 200-year-old Ibiza finca "designed with Gaudi-inspired curves and shapes."

The bride walked down the aisle wearing Berta Bridal, to a song personally selected by Larson: 'Fjöjur Píano' by Sigur Ros (Larson actually created the music video for the track when released in 2012). "I thought I would be that bride that turns up looking rad, not very bride-y. But then I thought, 'This is my one chance to be a bride.' And I looked like an absolute bride, 1000%. I love how feminine Berta's silhouettes are. Pure female power; sexy, classy, elegant, timeless. But with modern elements. In a change-up from his rotation of CDLP pool suits for the three-day celebrations, the groom wore an Acne Studios suit over a CDLP tank top, finished with Eytys shoes.

Apollonia carried roses, giving each of her bridesmaids (and one brides-man) one from her bouquet. "I completely forgot to throw the bouquet after the ceremony, I was having too much of a good time." So wrapped up in planning for their guests, a few other key details slipped their minds. "We got to Ibiza and realised we didn't have any rings! Luckily our good friend Jacob Skragge who runs All Blues saved us. He said, 'Guys, I've got you' and brought a bunch with him to the wedding."

The bride wore three looks in total. De La Vali, which also hails from Ibiza, was her choice for the sunset cruise, and after the ceremony, she changed into a beaded number by Clio Peppiatt. "I love the brand, its fun and figure-hugging. All my bags were from there too." Her earrings were vintage Chanel, and she donned a pair of white Linda Farrow shades to complete the look. "I was worried those were a bit much. But I was also hiding a little bit, it's quite overwhelming to get married!"

The ceremony was held by a friend of the couple's, London fashion insider Gabriele Hackworthy, who shared funny stories and a tribute to Apollonia's late mother. "There was a lot of influence from my mum at the wedding, and it was a very emotional day for me and my family. We had a ceremony before she passed away, so she got to witness Christian and I make that bond together."

After the couple walked out to Diana Ross' 'I'm Coming Up', guests were seated at long tables beneath a swarm of fairy lights, "like falling stars," within the villa lit up by hundreds of candles and mirrors to reflect the flickering lights. They were treated to a bevy of seafood dishes: octopus and gambas canapés, with grilled sea bass to follow. The dessert was a 'smash and grab cake': "It's basically a pavlova, with paper laid down all over the tables," Apollonia explains. "Christian and I went and smashed the whole thing up with a pin, and everybody helped themselves with spoons. A messy and fun end to the dinner."

After making sure everyone had an espresso martini in hand, the couple had one last surprise. "We had a secret that we didn't tell anyone. At 10.30pm we said, 'You think you're having a good time here, just wait,' and took them underground, beneath the villa, to a full-blown, Pacha-style club. It was so hard for us to keep it from everyone, but so fun to surprise them."

The weekend wrapped up with a pizza pool party on the last day. "Everyone was hungover, we served Bloody Marys, which for me is the best cure. Listened to tunes, shared stories and cried. It was the perfect goodbye."

It was a celebration that utterly reflected the now-newly weds, mulling over every detail for their family and friends. "For us, it was about making sure that the vibe every day was catered to our guests. That everyone felt seen, appreciated and looked after." And, which reflected their enduring relationship. "I remember feeling so lucky that we're still so crazy about each other. We're low-key obsessed," Apollonia admits gleefully. "Even after all these years, I felt absolute butterflies to marry this man. And he felt butterflies to marry me."
