The uncompromising aesthetic of Hope's SS22 collection was every bit a sartorial art-crowd dream
It was all aboard at Hope’s spring/summer presentation during Copenhagen Fashion Week. On a trip along the tracks, we were transported to a neon-lit venue. Inspired by Hong Kong director Wong Kar-Wai ’s movie 2046, the collection embodied the mysterious train that claims its passengers' hopes and dreams.
The objective for the collection was wearability and functionality in the form of sustainable fashion. Crafted from Italian fabrics in off-white, beige, and black, a graphic monochromatic print stood in stark contrast to the rest of the collection. Generous shirts were pinned in at the waist and hip, and a linen dogtooth blazer – á la Patti Smith – was worn over a neutral linen base.
The fashion film by Fredrik Wenzel was a festive tale of art gallery disco - with the eclectic, yet minimalistic separates featured in a hypnotic .
