Our apartment is finally starting to come together, and we are so pleased the result. As you have read in the previous chapters, we chose to tear down the hallway and instead have our kitchen as the heart of the apartment.

With the new location of the kitchen, it will be the first thing one see when entering - combining both the dining and living room. For this reason, we wanted the kitchen to really speak for itself and feel like a central part of the space rather than just a traditional kitchen area.

We designed the kitchen together with A.S Helsingö. I was quite nervous to receive the finished kitchen doors and fronts, as we went for a pink shade. We had, of course, tested the paint but nevertheless, I had a hard time imagining a full-on pink kitchen.
Our craftsman sent me a picture of the fronts and kitchen doors while I was on set, and I could immediately see how nice the colour was. Such a relief.

To tone down the kitchen we chose creamy white cupboards, a beige stone top with a stainless steel oven and exhaust hood from Smeg.
We also chose to build in all the appliances in the cabinets and went for a white porcelain sink which goes so well with the rest of the parts.

For quite some time a Murano lamp has been on the top of our list for apartment purchases and now we've finally found the perfect place for it – the kitchen.
We bought it at Lampadanada and sometimes, we catch ourselves just standing and looking at - it's so gorgeous.

To the room with the vault opening and the blue roof, we were looking for a round dining table. My friend, the very talented furniture designer Gustaf Westman did, of course, have the perfect one so it didn't took long before we ordered one in a dark, rich red shade.

One of my favourite colour combinations is blue and red. So the table combined with the blue roof along with our dining chairs (J39 by Børge Mogensen) in oiled oak from Fredericia Furniture are the most amazing combination and all we could ever have dreamed of.

Another dream lamp has been purchased. Floatation by Ingo Mau, is on its way and it will hang over the dining table. A few days ago, the paintings from Miró arrived. They are framed in glass with oak and will decorate the walls in the dining room.

Check back in for more updates next month.
