TikTok darling Laufey took on a TikTok-viral trend on the Golden Globes red carpet, heralding 2024 as the year of über-romantic femininity

The TikTok-viral 'coquette' trend has been taking over both runways and cobbled streets over the past year, with the vast majority of us putting bows on everything from ourselves to our interiors. Simply put, the coquette aesthetic is the perfect opportunity to embrace your soft, romantic side and has been spearheaded by the likes of Simone Rocha, Sandy Liang and Molly Goddard, whose cult-like followings and lace-heavy looks reigned supreme during the Barbie-defined 'girlhood' year 2023.

It is a sweet take on femininity we will continue to see in 2024. Case in point: Icelandic-Chinese jazz sensation Laufey embracing a girly getup at the Golden Globes. Tapping Rodarte's ready-to-wear line, the ethereal artist – whose music fuses bedroom pop with classic jazz – opted for angelic white ruffles defined by a bow-topped satin belt.

The dress, which is currently available on the brand's website, sees lace tulle cascading in voluminous tiers all the way to the floor. The delicate straps of Laufey's demure neckline framed a matching statement scarf, which the artist pinned with a hand moulded silk flower pin.

To finish her look, Laufey opted for silver accessories to match another trend of 2024: silver eyeshadow. The metallic lid was finished by coquette-ish tousled curls and soft blurred blush.
