“This season, we will celebrate exceptional Norwegian talent, where we show off the breadth of Norwegian fashion and design, from progressive newcomers to the rise of new international successors,” says Elin Carlsen, CEO of Oslo Runway. “We expect an exhilarating season, from physical to digital runway shows, to creative expressions ranging from modern craft to tailored minimalism.”

The excitement kicks off with a massive talent runway show and the launch of a completely new Talent Showroom. Oslo Runway NEXT and DS Fashion Talent Award are two initiatives to promote Norway’s up-and-coming fashion brands and design talents. The former will introduce three promising brands: 2 Much Pressure, Tarinii, and Margaret Abeshu, showcasing their collections through runway presentations. The collections will also be displayed up close in the new Talent Showroom at F5 Concept Store, alongside Gobmi, a Sami brand, and Eigenbrötler, a Hønefoss-based brand.

Ending the first day in an appropriate fashion, Oslo Runway and Vogue Scandinavia will invite 500 prominent guests to the Official Opening Party at Trekanten on the evening on the 14th, to be held in a modernist natural concrete building in central Oslo.

Moreover, The Jewellery Exhibition, a highly successful component of last year’s event, will return with designs from renowned brands such as Josephine Studio, Isa.Collection, Studio Bille, Yili, Tarinii, David-Andersen, and Demba. The exhibition will be held at Kunsthall Oslo and will be open to the public.

Among the brands gracing the official schedule of Oslo Runway are Cathrine Hammel, ESP, Envelope1976, Cala Jade, AWAN, byTiMo, Pearl Octopuss.y, Julie Josephine, Blender Agency, One and Other, and ILAG. These established brands will be joined by exciting newcomers like Atelier Hinode, OAD, Woodling, and Monuse, promising an abundance of creativity.

In addition to the main showcases, Oslo Runway will feature open events that highlight the best of fashion, tech, art, and music. From a shopping event featuring Norway’s bubbling jewellery brands at Steen & Strøm department store to a design talk and a pop-up design collaboration between 2 Much Pressure and Studio Sandland, there will be plenty of opportunities to engage with fashion throughout the week.

As part of its commitment to sustainability, Oslo Runway introduces Copenhagen Fashion Weeks’s Sustainability Requirements for the first time in 2023. This initiative aims to foster a more responsible and ethical fashion industry in Norway. “As Norway’s most important showcasing arena, we are committed to contribute to a more responsible industry,” says Carlsen. “This collaboration between Oslo Runway, Norwegian Fashion Hub and Copenhagen Fashion Week is a giant leap for us and will definitely lead to more ethical and sustainable practices in the Nordic design scene.”

All brands and designers participating in the official schedule have been asked to report on their current sustainable practices and align with an ethical charter that promotes diversity and inclusion for models and staff. By 2024, the goal is for all participants to meet the Minimum Standards, paving the way for a more sustainable Nordic design scene.

With a program brimming with creativity and talent, Oslo Runway is set to elevate the local fashion scene and showcase the best of Norwegian fashion and design to the world. For more information on tickets and the complete line-up, visit the official Oslo Runway website at www.oslorunway.no.
