Alicia Vikander captivated onlookers on the red carpet at the 76th edition of Cannes Film Festival in a show-stopping Louis Vuitton gown, stealing the spotlight at the premiere of her latest movie Firebrand.
The gown, a testament to creative director Nicolas Ghesquière's visionary brilliance, exuded an ethereal charm. Vikander's stylist Victoria Sekrier explains the origins of the couture garment, drawing inspiration from an outfit on the fall runway: “Look number 27 was my favourite in the Louis Vuitton fall collection – it feels very mid-2000s, but not in the Y2K way," she told Vogue Scandinavia, breaking down Vikander's every look for Cannes. " When we were seeing sketches we were just instantly drawn to this gown. It felt perfect. It’s very different to last year, but it’s also very her."

Crafted from delicate silk georgette, the custom look draped softly, enveloping Vikander's silhouette with its graceful folds. The nude underlay provided a subtle contrast, further enhancing the exquisite detailing – more precisely 60,000 glass beads and rhinestones – of the garment. A hypnotic interplay of textures danced across the bodice while petal shaped silver appliqués cascaded down the skirt; a true testament to the meticulous handwork of Louis Vuitton's artisans, evident in every shimmering stitch.
Complementing the ensemble, Vikander wore minimalistic yet striking jewellery – a pair of diamond hoops and a simple statement ring, both from Louis Vuitton's high jewellery collection.
