The second annual Vogue World will kick off London Fashion Week in September. Below, find everything you need to know about Vogue World: London.
What is Vogue World: London, exactly?
After Vogue World made its traffic-stopping debut on West 13th Street in the midst of New York Fashion Week last September, the fashion fantasia will land in London’s West End for an equally spectacular sophomore outing. For 2023, Vogue has enlisted the BAFTA- and Olivier-winning director Stephen Daldry (of The Crown and Billy Elliot fame) to creatively oversee a theatrical celebration of the very best of British culture and fashion. Kicking off London Fashion Week, the one-of-a-kind show – masterminded by an international Vogue team headed up by Anna Wintour and Edward Enninful – is inspired by an opening night in the West End, and will feature performances from leading lights of opera, theatre and film, as well as classical and pop music. The grand finale? A runway extravaganza showcasing highlights from the autumn/winter 2023 collections.
Where and when is Vogue World: London taking place?
Vogue World: London will take over Theatre Royal Drury Lane on 14 September.
Will there be celebrities?
In a word, yes. Supermodels Kate Moss, Cara Delevingne, Adwoa Aboah, Ashley Graham and Paloma Elsesser, along with acclaimed actor Sophie Okonedo, have just joined Stormzy, Sienna Miller and Sir Ian McKellen on the stellar line-up, with more major names to be revealed in the coming weeks.
Every facet of the performing arts will be represented at Vogue World: London, with the support of the Royal Opera House, Andrew Lloyd Webber and LW Theatres, the Royal Ballet, and the Rambert Dance Company (above, with Naomi Campbell). Photo: Charlotte Wales
What’s the goal?
In its celebration of the UK’s rich cultural scene, Vogue World: London also seeks to secure its future after a challenging few years in the wake of the pandemic. To that end, all net ticket proceeds from the event will benefit a wide range of performing arts organisations in the capital, from the National Theatre and Royal Opera House to the Royal Ballet, Southbank Sinfonia, and the Rambert dance company. A full list of the organisations due to benefit will be shared ahead of the event. “The arts are under threat in the UK and Vogue World will be a timely reminder of how important they are, how vital a part of our lives, and how much they need our support,” Anna Wintour said of the decision.
Can I buy tickets to Vogue World: London?
Yes, tickets for Vogue World: London are available to purchase here. And if you can’t make it to the West End this September? Make sure to sign up for Vogue Club for exclusive priority access to future events, and tune in to the livestream, which will be broadcast on all Vogue sites globally, to keep up with all the action. There will also be a dedicated e-commerce site for the showcase, as well as exciting live activations in other Vogue markets.
What happened at the last Vogue World?
In 2022, the first ever Vogue World took over New York’s Meatpacking District with a dazzling fashion show and street fair. On the line-up? A Serena Williams cameo; a dancing Mikhail Baryshnikov; 112 top models storming the runway to Madonna’s “Vogue”; a Lil Nas X performance supported by the Hadid sisters; and a star-studded street party featuring food stalls run by the world’s leading fashion houses (think pastrami sandwiches courtesy of Michael Kors and Katz’s Deli, and baguettes by Fendi, naturally). No wonder then, that anticipation is sky high ahead of Vogue World: London.
