The Eurovision song contest is music's biggest night and we are only mere months away now. So, what will this year's competition hold? Here, Vogue Scandinavia rounds up the facts.
In 2022, Ukraine won the Eurovision Song Contest for the third time with the song Stefania, performed by Kalush Orchestra. Showing the power and solidarity of music, European voters showed their support and handed out over 439 points, winning with a total score of 631 points.
But what will the celebration look like in 2023? We already know that the 67th competition will be hosted in the city of Liverpool, in the UK, following a close race with Scotland's Glasgow. The Grand Final will take place at the Liverpool Arena on Saturday 13th May, with the semi-finals taking place on the 9th and 11th May.
However, it is said that even though the night will take place in England, it will feature key elements of Ukraine to honour their triumph last year. The European Broadcasting Union has also released the official logo for the contest, which contains the Ukrainian flag within the heart.

Official entries are selected by local competitions, such as Sweden's Melodifestivalen, and by now the contestants who will be representing the Nordics have all been selected and named. For Norway, that means 20-year-old Norwegian-Italian singer Alessandra Mele will be performing her entry song Queen of Kings, a catchy female empowerment ballad which has already topped the Spotify charts across Europe.
As for Sweden, Loreen will be making her return to the Eurovision stage, 11 years after she first won the competition with hit Euphoria. This time around she will be performing with Tattoo and no doubt much of Sweden will be cheering her on.
Finland’s hope comes in the form of singer Käärija and his offering Cha Cha Cha. A mix of electro pop and rap, the entry has already proved popular in his home country, currently sitting at number one on the Finnish Spotify chart. And it was Denmark's Melodi Grand Prix competition which determined who might be in with a chance at the nabbing the top Eurovision trophy. And the lucky contender in question has been announced as Faroese-Danish singer Reiley, who will be performing in May with his entry song Breaking My Heart. With over 10 million followers amassed on TikTok, one thing is for sure, there will be lots (and lots) of eyes on him come competition time.
