London-based, Swedish-raised designer Feben was behind the gauzy silver creation that Emily Ratajkowski plucked straight from the autumn/winter runway

Another day, another star-studded after-party, another naked dress. Well, if you’re Emily Ratajkowski that is. The leader of literally less-is-more dressing has quite the collection of blink-and-you'll-miss it transparent dresses (think fishnet Tory Burch by night or sheer pleats by day) and for the 2023 Vanity Fair Oscar Party in Los Angeles last night, she added another naked number to her repertoire.

A range of daring naked dresses made dramatic impact on the after-party red-carpet (hello, Daisy Edgar-Jones in crystal-swathed transparent Gucci and Janelle Monáe in a cut-out black beaded Area confection) but it was Ratajkowski’s goddess-like chainmail sheath that had the most Delphic drama. The brains behind the gauzy silver creation, accented with braided details? Emerging London designer Feben, the Central Saint Martins graduate who has also created pieces for Beyoncé and Erykah Badu and who enlisted Jorja Smith to walk in her recent autumn/winter 2023 show.

Ratajkowski’s gown came straight from Feben’s runway, one which also featured a range of artisanal embellishments like molten sequins, which the designer describes as an outré armour. Dresses also featured a print of a marble statue of the Greek goddess Psyche by sculptor William Theed. Now Feben has modern deity dazzling on the red carpet.
