Step inside the night of frighteningly excellent looks inspired by 18 century debauchery at Dilara Fındıkoğlu's Haloween banquet
When Dilara Fındıkoğlu sends a costume brief, you listen. Yesterday evening, the buzzy British designer hosted a decadent ‘Dark Versailles’ halloween banquet and all of her guests understood the assignment. Held at The London EDITION’s Berners Tavern, a fitting venue given its soaring ceilings and salon-hung paintings, the fete was a feast for the eyes. Powdered faces and sky-high wigs, cinched waists and blooming crinolines, all lit by the romantic glow of wax-dripping candles.
Hosted by the legendary Bimini Bon Boulash – who summoned us to seat with the strike of a gong, naturally – the party mirrored the debauched 18th century bashes from which it drew inspiration. Following dinner (a tricky feat in a corset) guests hit the dance floor, letting loose to the pounding beats of the first lady of fashion herself, Princess Julia. Most of all, this was an evening of frighteningly excellent looks. See them all below.
