Is crystal lingerie our new go-to party wear for the holidays? A new collection from Gestuz and Understatement has us convinced
With the boycott of trousers and the rise of underwear as the building block of a (respectable) outfit it comes as no surprise that crystal lingerie take the cake as covetable party gear this season – at least if you ask Danish ready-to-wear brand Gestuz and Swedish underwear brand shopunderstatement.com. The two have teamed up for a glitzy range of festive (underwear fashion) just in time for Christmas.
Gestuz creative director Sanne Sehested is proud to join forces with Understatement. "It is the first time we ever take part in a collaboration like this, and it is amazing to do it with a Scandinavian brand that has such similar values about female empowerment as we do," she says, noting how this collection is about not being afraid to embrace sensuality, festivity, and femininity in whatever way resonates with its wearer.

It is a sentiment shared by Maria Lager, Understatement's co-founder and marketing director. “We are so excited to enter the holiday season with this meaningful collaboration, which is so strongly aligned with our vision to embrace comfort and confidence for all women," she says.
Often, we are told to hide ourselves or dress in a certain way. But with the birth of these pieces and the designs from our winter collection, we are having a party and sparkling inside out.

The collection itself contains seven electric party pieces bedazzled with delicate rhinestone mesh and a scattering of Swarovski crystals to easily style in layers or wear solo – transitioning with ease from underwear to outerwear. "Often, we are told to hide ourselves or dress in a certain way," says Sehested. "But with the birth of these pieces and the designs from our winter collection, we are having a party and sparkling inside out."
The collection will be available from December 1 on understatement.com and gestuz.com.
