The future Queen's approaching 50th birthday celebrations commenced in Denmark on Monday
Yesterday marked the opening of the ‘Mary and the Crown Princesses’ exhibition at Koldinghus, Denmark. An exhibition to honour Crown Princess Mary of Denmark's milestone 50th birthday. The event was attended by the Danish royals, where Crown Princess Mary donned an exquisite blush pink coat dress by Danish designer Claes Iversen, a matching satin clutch by Bottega Veneta and blush patent leather pumps by Gianvito Rossi.
Providing a fascinating view into the history of the Danish Crown Princesses, the exhibition includes portraits of Crown Princess Mary and her last four predecessors. In addition, videos recorded of Crown Princess Mary are on display, where she talks about the Queens before her and what she finds the most inspiring about them.
While her actual birthday is on the 5th of February, the week has also already included further tributes to celebrate the future Queen, with more to come. On Monday, a book titled Mary H.K.H was released including exclusive never before seen photographs of the Crown Princess, as well as her own accounts on moments that she holds close to her heart. The book offers an exceptional view into the Crown Princess’ official and private life while presenting beautiful images of one of the most photographed woman in the world.
In addition to the book launch yesterday, the Danish Royal Court released new official gala portraits of the Crown Prince couple, taken by Hasse Nielsen. In the beautiful portraits, Crown Princess Mary wears a striking pale blue pearl embroidered lace and organza gown created by Danish designer Lasse Spangenberg.
The rest of the week will be filled with more celebratory outings for the future Queen, including another exhibition at Frederiksborg Castle, an opening of the Crown Princess Mary Centre at the University of Copenhagen, and TV 2’s birthday show Mary 50 – we’re celebrating Denmark’s Crown Princess.
