Isadora Bjarkardóttir Barney stars alongside 'curious fantasy flora and fauna' jewels designed by renowned Swedish artists

Titled A Remedy, the campaign showcases Miu Miu's jewellery collection for fall / winter 2022, as designed by Djurberg and Berg. Comprising whimsical and colourful pieces in the likeness of small pills and animals, the collection takes inspiration from the artists' 2015 sculpture series, A Thief Caught In The Act. Expressing "the wish to escape with humour and gentleness," each piece is composed of resin elements and galvanised metal, all crafted and finished by hand.

Barney is the latest face to be tapped by Miu Miu for its roster of muses, but it's not the first time the house has called on the artistic Djurberg and Berg. Miuccia Prada is a steadfast fan of the pair, recruiting them for a number of projects in the past, including the music and digital animations featured throughout Miu Miu's fall / winter 2022 runway show.

“I first met Nathalie and Hans in 2005,” said Miuccia Prada in a statement. “Three years later we exhibited their work at the Fondazione Prada and since then, our dialogue has been constant. It has been so interesting to see how their work developed through time, encompassing different mediums, and always eager to confront with a new mind-set,” she said, adding that this approach “is exactly at the core of our A Remedy project with Miu Miu, following the well-established tradition of “Artists as Jewellers” , but with a completely contemporary attitude”.

Broadening perceptions of what fashion and adornment may represent, the partnership for A Remedy once again brings Miu Miu’s commitment to artistic intervention to life.

“Our work has always been a deeply personal exploration, a way to understand the world around us, to make sense and feel it from different angles,” say Djurberg and Berg. ”By expressing and creating we try to gather an understanding of what surrounds us.” And of A Remedy in particular: “It is good to work in different ways, to soften up the set paths your brain has taken. For us this was an opportunity to be playful and take on something very new. It makes you think differently and new and unexpected things appear.”

In addition to the kickstart to Barney's modelling career as a Miu Miu muse, she is a face to watch on the big screen after starring alongside her mother in Viking revenge thriller, The Northmen.
