Here, you’re invited to join the knitting circle with a pattern for the brand’s ‘Country Casual’ beanie.

Country casual beanie

Materials needed:

120g of chunky 4 ply Myssy Wool (100g/80m) or similar. The beanie is knitted in the round with 8mm (US 11) circular or double pointed needles.

Abbreviations

CO = Cast on
K = Knit
SKP = Slip 1, Knit 1, Pass Slipped Stitch Over
CO = Cast off

Size

Country Casual comes in one size and it fits the average adult head circumference (54 to 59 cm). It should feel a little tight in the beginning, the hat adjusts to the size and shape of your head within the first week of use. The length of Country Casual can be adjusted by knitting it two centimetres longer or shorter.

Gauge

11 sts x 16 rows = 10 cm in stockinette stitch

Instructions

CO 44 sts
Make sure the stitches are not too tight or too loose. Join for working in the round, careful not to twist stitches.

Every round:
Work in stockinette stitch (K) until the piece measures 24 centimetres.

Decrease:
Move stitches on double pointed needles, 11 sts on each needle.
Needle 1: K1, SKP, K to end of needle
Needle 2: K10, SKP
Needle 3: K1 SKP, K to end of needle
Needle 4: K10, SP
Continue till you have 3 stitches per needle.

Cast off:
Leave about a 20 cm tail and break yarn and draw the yarn tightly
through stitches on the needle with a tapestry needle. Draw the
yarn tightly through stitches a second time and make sure there
is no hole at the top.

Weave in the ends on the inside of the project by running the yarn
4 cm up and 4 cm down under the stitches.
