The American actress stepped out on the pink carpet for last night's US Fashion Trust Gala in a striking dress from the Swedish brand's spring/summer ‘24 collection
Last night, American actress Alexandra Shipp, who’s renowned for her roles as Writer Barbie in the blockbuster flick Barbie and Kim in the Oscar-nominated film Straight Outta Compton, attended the Fashion Trust US Awards in Los Angeles donning a sculptural, snow-white frock by Acne Studios. Organised by the non-profit Fashion Trust US initiative dedicated to discovering, funding, and fostering emerging design talent, the event saw the organisation doling out accolades in different categories, including ready-to-wear, jewellery, accessories and recent graduates.
Shipp’s long-sleeved, body-skimming feather-adorned dress is from the Swedish brand's spring/summer ‘24 collection, which the label showcased at Paris Fashion Week last September. As a devoted Acne Studios enthusiast, Shipp was in attendance at the spectacle, which took place in The Paris Observatory, draped in 7,350 square metres of off-white canvas by artist Lukas Gschwandtner for the occasion. The line-up, which saw a multitude of sleek frocks stride down the runway, drew inspiration from the electrifying anticipation that fills the air when the lights come on after a show or a party.

Acne Studios and Shipp make a great match, with the actress often leaning into the beloved brand’s pieces that exude a distinct, effortless Scandinavian cool. For last December’s New York premiere of the hotly anticipated rom-com Anyone But You, where Shipp plays the supporting role of Claudia, the actress also opted for a piece from Acne Studios' SS24 offering, stunning in the cobalt blue, draped dress from the collection.
