The Swedish, Paris-based label's autumn/winter' 24 collection infuses its feminine DNA with a hint of rock'n'roll
Confident, empowered, and appreciative of the meticulous work that goes into creating each piece. These are some of the characteristics founder Bahareh Ardakani uses to describe the ArdAzAei woman. The Swedish brand debuted at Paris Haute Couture Week in 2022 and has now launched its autumn/winter ‘24 ready-to-wear collection, titled ‘Souvenirs’, crafted entirely from GOTS-certified, natural, and organic fabrics.
“When I imagined ArdAzAei, my ambition was always to create designs where the care of their craftsmanship is equal to their care for the world around us,” says Ardakani. “It’s an understanding of beauty inspired by the eternal time I found gathered in a gemstone’s interior, one that comes from within and shall forever remain timeless.” For the designer, that’s precisely what she thinks of as today’s luxury.
The AW24 line-up takes its cues from the brand’s own universe, namely from the label’s 2023 ‘The Diffraction of Light’ Haute Couture collection. Injecting a dose of free spirit into formalwear, this season boasts the brand’s signature refined tailoring, spiced up with bold jacquard prints and ombré colourways. Sculptural silhouettes and sharp shoulders lend a touch of edginess, while immaculately-cut reindeer leather and denim garments claim their spot amongst the stand-out pieces within the collection.
At ArdAzAei, sustainability is woven into the tiniest details of the garments. For AW24, the brand’s atelier created “a new biodegradable fusing that eschews fossil fuel-derived polyester and glues for the binding of its structural, tailored pieces.” While bearing in mind the health of our planet, Ardakani aims to craft clothes that both look exquisite and feel sublime to wear. “It’s about a personal connection with the clothes we wear, a new luxury that is very private,” she says.
