A whistle-stop Nordic tour provides the perfect weekend away – from tasty Danish bakeries to quad biking in Iceland. Well, Euphoria star Maude Apatow certainly seems to think so…

Nurturing friendships seems to be as important for Euphoria’s character Lexi, as it is for the actress who portrays her. As the hit TV show's latest season wrapped up, Maude Apatow stepped away from Hollywood for a few weeks to enjoy a lively and well-deserved getaway with friends.

Her first stop was the Saint Laurent show at Paris Fashion Week where Apatow spoke with Vogue on style and everything #fexi. Her second? A low-key couple of days around Denmark and Iceland alongside good company - among which was actress Anna Kendrick, sports journalist Taylor Rooks and comedian Desus Nice.

Scandinavia may be a prime destination for couples and families, but each Nordic country has just as much to offer for a good time with friends. The hotspots and activities Maude Apatow and her party hit up during their trip are examples of how to turn a getaway with friends into an exhilarating and unforgettable experience. Here are all the stops on their list:

Juno Bakery, Copenhagen, Denmark

There are plenty of delicious bakeries in Copenhagen, but if you wander around Østerbo with your friends after a night out, you’ll find that a coffee and cinnamon swirl from Juno Bakery just hits differently. Run by former Noma chef Emil Glaser, the Swedish-style bakery perfected this traditional pastry into something light yet buttery and flavoursome that utterly melts into the mouth. Sure, you may have to queue up to get your hands on Copenhagen’s best Kanelsnegle, but it gives you time to catch up with your friends. And if your not in the mood for spices, there’s always fluffy rolls, crispy almond croissants and creamy pastries to fix any craving. As Maude Apatow shared on her IG story, snacking on a raisin-filled danish is just as delicious.

GoBoat, Denmark

Nothing says intimate happy hour as much as sailing around the Copenhagen harbour at sunset, on a private boat, and with a picnic basket. Available for hire off the dock of Islands Brygge and comfortable enough for a party of eight, GoBoat provides a relaxing and sustainable way to cruise the city. The raft’s engine is solar-powered to minimise its impact on the harbour. It is also set up with simplicity and functionality in mind, so you can absorb the view while sitting around a table sipping natural beers and wines. Yes, you will need to navigate it yourself, but you can always follow in Apatow’s footsteps and let one of your sailing-amateur friends take the plunge while you curl up in a blanket. Cruise through the mapped-out routes available from Sluseholmen, across the Christianshavn canals and up to the Opera to make the most of your outing.

Noma, Denmark

If your idea of the perfect friend getaway in Scandinavia includes refined Nordic food, organic wines and celebrity sightings, then book a table at René Redzepi’s world’s best restaurant Noma. Nestled on the outskirts of Christianshavn, the three Michelin star location brings up a sophisticated barn-style dining moment that emanates Scandinavia’s warmth, nature and simplicity at its best. Through the open kitchen plan, you can watch renowned chefs prepare Noma’s seasonal carte with fresh and local ingredients. Make sure to opt-in on the recommended wine-pairing from the restaurant's highly curated list, to give your tastebuds the full experience. And who knows, you might even run into another cast member of Euphoria enjoying a few glasses.

Blue Lagoon, Iceland

Having a relaxing spa day with your friends is nice, but there’s nothing quite like floating in a geothermal lagoon in Iceland. Step 20 minutes out of Reykjavik airport and into a steamy, 37 degrees all-year-round pool for the ultimate skin-nurturing experience. Surrounded by volcanic rocks and naturally enriched with algae, minerals and silicon, the Blue Lagoon feels like you are immersing yourself into a rejuvenating cloud. Apatow’s face says it all. Walk in early and dip your skin into the healing waters as long as you like. A day-pass comes with access to the in-water bar for refreshments, a silica mud-mask experience, and plenty of Insta-worthy opportunities for memories.

ATV Quad Biking Tour, Iceland

Spending a day sightseeing Icelandic wonders is a unique and memorable moment enhanced when done on quad bikes with friends. Starting two and half hours south out of Reykjavik, take yourself on a moon-like trip and rover across dramatic sceneries. Along the way, stop by Reynisfjara beach, a hotspot covered with volcanic lava sand, rocky sea stacks and Icelandic troll legends. Even in intense weather, you can also explore the Seljalandsfoss waterfall and Sólheimajökull glaciers nearby. After all, Maude Apatow and her friends seemed to have fun, even through a snowy day. Complete your tour with a well-deserved lava bread tasting in Vik to warm up before concluding your getaway trip.
