With so many exceptional beauty products launching each week, here we separate the good from the great, the better from the best
All products featured on Vogue are independently selected by our editors. However, when you buy something through our retail links, we may earn an affiliate commission.
In between meetings, events and countless hours of TikTok scrolling, Vogue Scandinavia’s beauty editor, Esteban G Villanueva (Vogue’s first and only male beauty editor worldwide), lets us in on the current products he’s obsessed with. Whether they’re new trendy launches or all-time beauty favourites, these offerings have caught his eye, and they should catch yours, too, making them a must-have in your ever-expanding beauty cupboard.
Here’s what he’s loving this week:
Love amongst all, clean girl aesthetics and on the go wonders. This week we not only celebrate pride but we also celebrate ourselves by performing the biggest act of love, self-care.
Shine, baby, shine. For this special week, The Body Shop upped its game and came out with a new multi-task highlighter that adds a holographic shimmer to lids, lips, cheeks – and anywhere else one wishes to shine. With a watermelon scent, they’re perfect for all skin types, non-sticky and easy to blend: the perfect on-the-go highlighter. Just one dab and you’re shining like a star.
Like everybody who’s on TikTok, I too am obsessed with Haley Bieber’s nails. Nonetheless, going through the DIY process isn’t something everyone has the skills for. Cue H&M Beauty’s Electric Pearl nail polish. With a pearlescent finish, it’s the perfect pink shade to incorporate between a base and top coat for the now-so-coveted glazed donut nails. White options are available too, but the pink and green sheen add an extra level of dimension.
A combination of deep-cleansing charcoal, gunpowder tea, sea salt and anise, these toothpaste tablets are the perfect on-the-go dental cleanser. Sustainable and waste-free, it only takes a couple of nibbles to make them into a paste that is meant to be used to brush one’s teeth into their most cleansed self. While the Boom flavour may not be to everyone's taste, the benefits trump that and deliver a charcoal-cleansed, fresh, smile.
Designed as an overnight mask, Narcyss’s Beach Grass mask is everything one wants from an overnight mask, with the texture of a pomade. For those who are big on texture, overnight masks can sometimes be overwhelming due to their normally oily or heavy finish. On the complete opposite side of the spectrum, Beach Grass has a controlled pomade texture that absorbs right into the skin for a silky finish. Using adaptogens and schisandra as its main active ingredients, the benefits are palpable upon first use. On top of that, the citrus, lemon-grass scent leaves for a calm, summery fragrance that soothes one right into a good night’s sleep.
In a true 'the girls that get it, get it' moment, hair masks have become the new hair gel and the clean girl slicked back hair now comes with a side of nourishment. A favourite for this is Björk Haircare’s Laga Repair Treatment. Designed as a repairing treatment for damaged, dry and chemically treated hair it contains algae and birch extracts to improve hair quality, prevent frizz, add shine and generate a soothing effect on the scalp.
Run, don’t walk, when it comes to getting these new limited edition Byredo lip balms. Known for their curvilinear metal casing, just this week Byredo released to the market three new special editions of their classic lip balm. Colourless and each scented in a different floral combination, the balms are vegan and nourishing, made with castor and jojoba oil, shea butter, amongst other hydrating ingredients. On top of that, each balm comes in a different metal pastel shade, making them a must for beauty collectors across the world.
Liberté, egalité, sexualité. Few people do pride and acceptance like Gaultier, and for this year’s Pride celebrations the brand decided to take a step further and create a whole new scent, housed in two different flasks. Le Male Pride Edition and Classique Pride Edition both retain the same scent, a citrus aromatic that combines top notes of yuzu and blood orange, with middle tones of neroli and orange blossom and a base of white woods and musk for a fresh, gender-less scent, that is presented in the two very different iconic bottles from the maison. Whether you opt for the male or female bust, you get the same scent and same love.
