When it comes to the scariest month of the year, don’t limit yourself to just the one night of all hallows

Halloween is the one day where going over the top (and then some) is more than acceptable, in fact, it's positively encouraged. And when it comes to pushing beauty, fashion and personal standards it comes intrinsically with the holiday.

Now, for us beauty junkies, Halloween is the one time of year where we go all out to prove ourselves in the artistry department. We test out those trends we’ve been too shy to adopt at any normal day. But why stop there? Why not make everyday slightly spookier?

Here's five ultra-easy makeup looks that can frighten up any casual day.

Vampire skin

A social media phenomenon and the current reason why Robert Pattinson is trending, Twilight made a resurgence with the roaring Vampire Skin trend that took Tik Tok by storm. Essentially emulating the iconic scene where Edward shows Bella ‘what a killer looks like’, the trend mixes a dewy foundation with glitter for an over-all highlighted look. A more wearable option is found in over highlighting with a big particle shimmer.

Dark siren eyes

Take the classic siren eyes that trended a couple months ago and add a bit of a dark inner corner blended into a natural shimmer. Mix it up with a dark, glossy lip and you’ll get a sultry, wearable look that is sure to enchant anyone who dares to catch your bewitching gaze.

Midnight claws

While this isn’t particularly makeup, dark nails are the perfect choice for this time of year. They add a level of darkness and depth to anything you wear, plus they’re almost sure to pair nicely with your actual costume, be it witch, corpse bride or mouse (duh). A personal favourite when it comes to shade is OPI’s Lincoln Park After Dark. Described as a near-black purple, this aubergine shade darkens itself depending on the light of the room and goes from the perfect black to a rich purple that surprisingly matches anything you wear.

Undead eyes

This month we’re not hiding the undereye bags, we’re enhancing them. Either you go for a classy siren eye, a smokey or a clean liner; the trick is to undershadow the eye with a red burgundy shadow. Don’t be afraid to be a little messy on application that’s the point of the look, and remember to add a bit of black shadow to the outer corner of the eye to enhance the illusion.

Bloody kiss

Finally, seal the deal with a bloody kiss inspired by the first blood of a vampy slayer. Ombre, from the inside out, a dark or even black shade into your natural lip colour and top it all off with a translucent gloss for that ultimate glistening 'fresh kill' look.
