The Swedish pop phenomenon is not someone to mince her words and her no-holds-barred posts on Twitter and TikTok often spark viral conversations. Below, Vogue Scandinavia looks back at her most memorable posts
Swedish pop sensation and Vogue Scandinavia’s latest cover star Zara Larsson is not someone who shies away from speaking her mind. The 25-year-old regularly takes to Twitter and TikTok to air her thoughts on everything from bowling and politics, to Beyoncé. Larsson’s posts always include a healthy dose of wit and humour, with much of the artist’s hilarious quips remaining forever etched in our memories.
Here’s 10 of Larsson’s most iconic posts to date:
Turning 25 can be a point of reflection for many of us,but Larsson seemingly took it in her stride. She approached the big milestone with her typical, care-free humour.
She’s ready and we believe her. As she said in her recent interview for our April-May issue: “Why would I ever doubt myself? Like, I’m amazing.” Although the artist is already an international pop phenomenon, Larsson has set her sights even higher, and rightfully so. We will be watching her world domination closely (and cheering from the sidelines).
Larsson is all about female empowerment and advocating for women’s rights. And the artist often voices her passionate opinions on the topic across her social platforms. Here, another statement sprinkled with her quintessential caustic wit.
We love women supporting women – and Larsson does too. A devoted fan girl – especially when it comes to Beyoncé – she can be seen regularly praising Queen Bey in her socials, letting her followers know just how much she adores her. “I’m truly so so so so thankful to live in a time where I get to experience Beyoncé,” read one tweet.
When a Reddit thread highlighting whether it’s common or not to feed younger house guests in Sweden went viral, Larsson couldn’t help but weigh in. “My family 100% would but it would be soooo common to sit in someone’s room when they had dinner I wasn’t even sad about it, it’s just the way it was hahahaha,” she said in the thread.
This article wouldn’t be complete without the inclusion of her now-infamous anti-bowling tirade, in which the singer explains her great hatred for the sport. Larsson’s viral crusade ignited a heated debate across social media. “I would seriously like someone 13% less if we were going on a date and they were suggesting ‘let’s go bowling’," the artist wrote.
Ahead of attending a black tie event, Larsson shared her key advice for wearing a naked dress: “the double CC’s”. You have to ask yourself: are you confident and are you comfortable? “If you’re not both of those things, don’t do it,” she says. “But if you got it, flaunt it.” You heard her.
In one of Larsson’s more controversial posts, she maintained that it should be acceptable to talk and laugh whilst in the cinema. Though this particular post has now been deleted, Larsson recently posted a response to her original video, convinced that karma had caught up with her. At the cinema, Larsson had been disturbed by other patrons chatting away during the film and hadn’t put their phones on silent. “Those two people were sent to me by the universe as a f**king punishment,” she says. It sounds to us like she might have changed her stance slightly.
Providing her invaluable tips and tricks again (although, granted, this one might come in more handy for celebrities and A-listers), Larsson reveals how to post a picture a paparazzi has taken without getting sued for copyright. She’s definitely onto something here…
The White Lotus was definitely one of the most buzzy shows of last year. And while its storyline was certainly addictive, so was its theme song. Larsson’s TikTok proves she was clearly a fan.
